Nonkululeko Nyembezi Chairman

NONKULULEKO is the Chairman of the BLSA board of directors and current Chief Executive Officer of Ichor Coal N.V., an international mining company focusing on thermal coal production in South Africa. The company owns and operates its own coal resources with customers in South Africa and beyond. In addition, Ichor Coal holds minority positions in other coal mining companies. Ms Nyembezi was previously Chief Executive Officer of ArcelorMittal South Africa, the largest steel producer on the African continent and subsidiary of the ArcelorMittal Group, which in turn is the largest steel producer in the world. Prior to that, she served as the Chief Officer of Mergers & Acquisitions for the Vodacom Group and before that, Chief Executive Officer of Alliance Capital, then local subsidiary of a New York based global investment management company. Ms Nyembezi has a B.Sc. Honours degree in electrical engineering from the University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology and a master’s degree in the same discipline from California Institute of Technology. She also has an MBA from the Open University (UK). Ms Nyembezi has served as an independent non-executive director on numerous boards in both the public and private sectors. She currently serves as non-executive chairman
of Alexander Forbes Group Holdings Limited, the JSE and Macsteel Service Centres SA (Pty) Limited. In addition to the above, Ms Nyembezi serves as a non-executive director of the following non-profit organisa

Busisiwe Mavuso CEO

BUSI is the Chief Executive Officer of Business Leadership South Africa, a position she holds since 1 July 2019. She previously held the position of Chief Operations Officer at the BLSA since November 2017. Before joining BLSA, Mavuso was the Managing Director of the Black Management Forum (BMF), an organisation she joined in May 2009 and served in positions of Chief Financial Officer and Operations Director. She is a non-executive director on the boards of Business Unity South Africa (BUSA), Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd, Resultant Finance (a PIC investee company) and BMF Investment (Pty) Ltd. Busi started her career in Finance in 1995 in the Banking Industry and has worked for various companies in industries ranging from training, consulting, telecoms and the healthcare industry (Netcare) over the past 23 years. Busisiwe is a Chartered Accountant with the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants in the United King (ACCA-UK) and holds a master’s degree in Business Leadership from UNISA SBL; a Postgraduate Qualification in Business Management from GIBS and a BCompt from UNISA. She is known as an advocate for inclusive socio-economic growth, transformation and people’s
development.
Nyeleti Magadze Executive for Strategy

NYELETI is the Executive for Strategy of Business Leadership SA. She holds a B.Proc degree and she is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa. She also holds a higher diploma in Tax law from the University of Johannesburg. She also completed a Senior Executive Program – Africa through Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) and Harvard Business School. She was previously with Hollard Insurance for 10 years in various roles including Executive for Governance and Corporate affairs which included these functions: Group Company Secretariat, Group Legal, Enterprise and Supplier Development, Internal Adjudicator and Corporate Affairs. Prior to Hollard, Nyeleti was Group Company Secretary for Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) at the time of preparing the airports for the Soccer World Cup. She also practised as an attorney for 6 years specialising in dispute resolution and corporate & commercial law. Nyeleti currently serves on the board of the Global Entrepreneurship Network SA (GENSA) and she also served on the board of Afgri.
Tebele Luthuli Executive for Policy and Legal/BACSA MD

TEBELE is the Executive for Policy and Legislation of Business Leadership South Africa (BLSA) and Managing Director (MD) of Business Against Crime South Africa since November 2017 and April 2019 respectively. Before joining BLSA Luthuli was a Director in a Corporate Commercial division of Tabacks Attorneys an organisation she joined in March 2010, mainly advising corporates and high net worth individuals on M&A transactions. She is an alternate director on the board of Business Unity South Africa and a trustee on the board of the National Education Collaboration Trust. Luthuli is an admitted attorney and holds an LLB degree as well as a master’s degree in Corporate Law (LLM) both from the University of the Witwatersrand.
