MultiChoice South Africa established Phuthuma Nathi in 2006, as its broad-based black economic empowerment scheme. More than 90 000 black shareholders from all walks of life hold a 20% stake in MultiChoice South Africa.
Total dividends of R9.1bn have been paid to Phuthuma Nathi since the scheme was launched.
